HORSE AND ANIMAL PORTRAITS
Our photography ranges from classic backdrop photography to informal candid photography. We use the same approach with animals as we would with humans, with the aim of capturing the setting which best portrays you and your animal.
Our speciality is in capturing animal poses in front of a purpose-built backdrop which focuses attention on the subject. The result is a distinctive portrait of elegant simplicity - remarkably different to the more familiar candid animal photographs.
Our portable studio also includes lighting of the non flash, non-spook- horses variety which gives even more drama and atmosphere to a portrait. See session requirements.
We conduct one-on-one shooting sessions or we accommodate small groups in a single session which helps you share the initial session cost.
Prices start at $220 for a minimum 2 hours of shooting photographs. Each session includes one complimentary 8 x 12 inch (A4 size) print. All other prints, including proof sheets, are at extra cost. You can view your proof photos online free of charge.

PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION REQUIREMENTS
When we shoot on location, we prefer to do a reconnaissance so we are adequately prepared.
If we are using our lights and/or backdrop indoors, we need a certain amount of space and an electricity supply.
Ideally, when using our backdrop for formal shots, we like to photograph horses in enclosed interiors, such as a 3 sided shed or an indoor equestrian centre, depending on available natural light and availability of electricity supply.
If we are setting up a backdrop outdoors for large animals, we require a large fixed surface to which we can firmly attach our backdrop eg. a shed wall, minimum 3 metres high by 4 or more metres wide.
We can set up our backdrop independently on its stand inside a suitably large 3 sided shed, providing the backdrop is totally sheltered from wind. Otherwise, we need to be able to bolster the backdrop and stand against a wall or we utilise roof beams.
Whatever the location, we're always resourceful - and since not everyone has an an equestrian centre idly lying around their back yard, we'll manage to find a way of shooting the style you want.

ABOUT VIEWING ONLINE PROOFS
Your online proof page is protected with a password so that only you - or your invited family and friends - can view them. We keep your proofs posted for 60 days and if you require longer, just let us know.
Online proofs are convenient: you can study your photos at leisure and, even better, they don't cost you a cent. But there are a few quality issues to bear in mind when viewing pictures over the internet:
- An online proof is a sample picture and is not the same high quality of a printed image
- An online proof is purposefully low resolution for ease of internet viewing and may look less detailed than it should
- Colours you see online are variable and are not the final photograph
- Your sample proof is only minimally retouched at this point
Printed proof sheet prices are available on request and proofs on a CD are also available.

OUR FRAMING SERVICE
Prints look their best when custom framed and displayed on a wall or on a side table. When you are ordering prints, we can help you choose print combinations and print sizes which will make the best arrangements in frames.
We offer the services of David Jones and Sam Parkinson, our local and very affordable professional framers who provide obligation free quotes. If you want, under your guidance, we can organise the frame and the mat board and, if needed, deliver it by person or by post to your doorstep.
David and Sam also offer a 'semi-framing' option where they mount they photograph with its mat board 'window' - but instead of the usual frame, it's wrapped in shrink wrap. This method protects your photograph until you are ready to either custom frame or buy a ready-made frame. It makes a great gift presentation. Prices depend on size, but an example is a 12 x 14 inch semi-frame mount, suitable for an 8 x 10 inch print, would cost about $25 (subject to change).
We charge a $50 handling fee (does not include postage and delivery handling) to organize framing; we do the legwork and save you time and petrol!
